My watch has a plastic crystal, can it be changed to a sapphire crystal?

If the watch originally came with a plastic crystal, you cannot install a sapphire crystal. The cases are made slightly different and if you attempt to put a sapphire crystal on an older watch, the hands will touch the crystal and cause the watch to stop. Please beware! Some companies claim that they can interchange them, however, you are at risk of the watch no longer being water resistant and the use of non-genuine Rolex Parts.
